Created in response to an archive of photographic and video material found beneath a bed. The photographs are from Valerie's time spent working alongside musicians in the 90s and through the early 2000s. Depicted are intimate relations with artists, such as Pavement, Teenage Fanclub and Mogwai. The film installation presents the entire duration of a flight onboard a sea plane flying over Vancouver, Canada. Valerie is riding the plane with friends from the well known band Snow Patrol. A life intertwined with fame, 'Hanging on a Star' seeks to simulate the rise and fall of stardom.
